The very practical, sturdy and lightweight Jamie Hyneman's 1 inch square metal tube nesting tables. My design dimension are based on plywood top dimensions, if you need them larger then I would go with MDF tops.

My conceptual idea of a 2X4 clamping frame assembling and glue-ups table, together with a table top smaller version. Both design concepts are equipped with an optional pipe clamp vise. The possibilities of such a clamping surface is vast and limited only to your imagination. Also if you like to have the ability of a plain solid surface, then you may store a sheet on the below table shelf and use that when needed. On the table top version, one side may be covered as the design is reversible.

Can get better than this of my low cost concept design of an assembly table made by only a single sheet of plywood.
